The day after hurricane Irene hit New Haven we had no power so we took a drive to Newport (thinking the storm was fairly inland). The funny thing is that Newport had no power.
The weather that day was beautiful and the power came back on in the afternoon. It was a great day.
A good friend of ours, Alvin Wong, asked us what we would be doing to celebrate Jack's 100th day birthday. This was new to us, but a celebrated tradition in China so Alvin celebrated with us. Mr. Alvin brought Jack a gift and everything. It is so fun to hear how Alvin can get Jack to talk - it is something about his sing-song voice that Jack thinks, "Ah, now here is someone I can talk to." Too cute!
We went to an all you can eat sushi place which was amazing. Jack slept pretty much the whole time like a champ and we are now officially part of the early bird family dinner crowd.
My college roommates came to town with their kids in tow. Lauren snapped this picture of the 3 youngest ones all born within months of each other. Sammy, Emma, and David are the big kids of the bunch and not in this picture. Here is Jack Lauer, Makari Woodworth, and Penn Salinas all in their morning nap attire. Thick as thieves already. Actually, I don't even think Makari knows he's sitting on Jack.
